ellen dances in the aspen trees
melting telluride agéd snow.

this winding desert stream which lilts
arid kisses to tickle the pacific.

oh! envy the osprey their parades

she sighs fusty, lies lithe
lengthwise on splintering park benches.

screen and sky bow at her touch, flail,
fill her black pupils with roaring season.
